There was a fresh suicide bombing today (Saturday) when a female suicide bomber blew herself up, killing seven people while several others sustained varying degrees of injury. The incidence occured at the entrance gate of the popular Damaturu Central Motor Park in the capital of Yobe state .
According to Dr Garba Fika, the Medical Director of Sani Abacha General Hospital, Damaturu, a total of 33 victims were received and 'all of them sustained various degree of injuries, out of which seven are dead, while seven are under a very critical condition'.
Dr Fika further clarified that those who in critical condition may be referred to the Federal Medical Centres in Nguru and Azare in Yobe and Bauchi States respectively, while those with less critical injuries would be discharged after treatment. He, however, encouraged the residents of Damaturu to donate blood to save the lives of the victims who, according to him, 'are in dire need of blood.'
