Over 30 persons have been killed while about 40 others are currently receiving treatment for varying degrees of injuries resulting from the bomb blast that occured at the busy Jimeta Main Market Yola, the capital city of Adamawa State in Northeastern Nigeria.
The blast was said to have been carried out by two suicide bombers at about 7:40 pm Nigerian time.
An eyewitness of the incident was said to have told Premium Times "We just finished observing the Maghrib prayer when we heard a loud blast in the direction of the market.
You know many traders also come out of the market and display their wares outside the main market to also observe the night market." he said
The eyewitness also added that there was traffic congestion in the area as people were beginning to return home from the day's activity.
The dreaded Boko Haram insurgents have renewed offensives since the inauguration of President Muhammadu Buhari last week Friday. However, previuos attacks since last week have been in the Borno State capital, Maiduguri.
