MARWA RETURNS TO APC

Brig.-Gen. Buba Marwa (Rtd)

The Former Military Administrator of Lagos State, Brig.-Gen. Muhammed Buba Marwa (Rtd), earlier today (Wednesday) formally announced his defection to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The announcement was contained in a statement issued by his media aide, Mallam Bello Zubairu, in Yola.

“The decision to return to APC was jointly reached at a well-attended meeting earlier today between Marwa and his supporters under the aegis of The Marwa Organisation (TMO)” the statement read.

The Marwa Organisation noted that after listening to the views of members, the TMO resolved to return to the party, which they helped form when they were in the defunct Congress for Progressive Change (CPC).

Marwa urged all elected and appointed officials across the country to support President Muhammadu Buhari and work for positive change in the country.

Marwa was the Military administrator of Borno State between 1990 and 1992 as well as that of Lagos State between 1996 and 1999 when Nigeria returned to democracy. He was the governorship candidate of CPC in Adamawa in 2011 and left APC for PDP in 2014 over allegation that many of his supporters were denied APC membership registration by the then party officials.

Marwa had last week announced his resignation from the Peoples Democratic Party.
