It was a resounding victory for World's Number one Tennis player, Novak Djokovic as he trashed the 'king of clay', Rafael Nadal, 7-5, 6-3,6-1 to set up a semi-final clash with Britain's top-seeded Andy Murray in the ongoing French Open championship.
The defeat, which may make Nadal drop from the world's top 10 for the first time since 2005, is his
second in Paris in a decade after a fourth-round exit to Robin Soderling in 2009 and it is Djokovic's first victory over the Spaniard in seven encounters in France.
In the second quater-final clash, Murray outclassed another indefatigable Spaniard, David Ferrer in four sets to proceed to the semi-final of the event.
Although Djokovic is heavily favoured to win the encounter, the Briton is prepared for the big challege as he has said that he is "going to have to come up with a good game plan and try to stick to it throughout, which is something I feel I’ve done pretty well the last couple of months."
